From French HQ template to Chinese workarounds: An action research project of ERP in use

Our contribution discusses a canonical action research project initiated after the identification of informal ERP practices (workarounds) at Chinese joint-ventures of a French multinational corporation (MNC). It first analyses the impacts of these informal workarounds and then proposes a corrective program to decide whether to formalise these practices. Along with the description of the action research project that led to the company developing ways to overcome the limits encountered, we reflect on the potential of the approach to address post-deployment practices in a global environment.
